Royal Ontario Museum

Ideal: Ideal for museums, culture, history, family visits, indoor activities, and learning-focused trips.

Founded in 1912, the museum is Canada's largest with more than 13 million objects. The real debate is not the collection but the building: Daniel Libeskind's 2007 Crystal addition — aluminium-and-glass prisms with no right angles — looks thrust into the historic façade. The structure appears on architecture award lists and 'world's ugliest buildings' round-ups at the same time; Torontonians still haven't agreed on it.
