Gooderham & Worts was once the world's largest whisky producer, turning out more than two million gallons a year in the 1860s. More than forty-seven Victorian industrial buildings still stand — considered the most intact industrial fabric of this scale in North America. Production stopped in 1990; the area reopened in 2003 as a fully pedestrian arts and design district. Cobblestone streets and brick façades have served as backdrops for hundreds of films.
