Financier Sir Henry Pellatt had this 98-room castle built between 1911 and 1914; it held Canada's first residential elevator, 59 telephones, and a 250-metre secret tunnel to the stables. Pellatt lost his fortune and moved out before he had lived there ten years; the city seized the property in 1933 for unpaid taxes. It now operates as a museum, and you can walk the tunnel to the stables.
