Neon Museum
Ideal: Ideal for history, photography, retro design, neon culture, and unusual museum visits.
Opened in 2012, the museum's Neon Boneyard holds about 250 dismantled hotel and casino signs. Not all were restored: some were left rusty and broken on purpose, because they show how fast the city tears down and rebuilds. Dark signs are lit by projection during evening shows to recreate their old glow. Even the visitor center is an exhibit: the 1961 shell-shaped lobby of La Concha Motel was cut apart and moved here in 2006.
