Cabo San Lucas Arch

Ideal: Ideal for beaches, boat tours, nature, photography, and a Los Cabos holiday route.

The granite arch stands at the tip of the Baja peninsula where the Pacific Ocean meets the Sea of Cortez — a region called Land's End. Jacques Cousteau called the Sea of Cortez 'the world's aquarium' for its marine diversity. From December through April grey and humpback whales pass through. The beaches on either side of the arch tell the story in their names: the calm inner cove is Lovers' Beach; the rough Pacific side is Divorce Beach, where swimming is forbidden.

Why go?

  • To see the iconic rock arch up close by boat
  • To watch sea-lion colonies and coastal scenery
  • For Baja California's most photogenic natural landmark

Travel tip

Sunset boat tours are very popular; winter months add whale-migration chances. Don't forget seasickness medicine.
