Blue Eye Spring (Syri i Kaltër)

Ideal: Geology, nature photography and short nature walks

The Blue Eye, or Syri i Kaltër, is a natural spring where groundwater rises forcefully from a deep karst opening. Its dark blue centre and turquoise edges create the characteristic eye-like appearance. A visit includes a walk from the access area to the spring, and transport arrangements may change over time. To protect the sensitive aquatic environment, visitors must follow barriers, swimming restrictions and all local conservation rules.
