Skanderbeg Square
Ideal: First-time Tirana visitors and travellers interested in urban history and architecture
Skanderbeg Square brings together major Tirana landmarks including the National Historical Museum, Et'hem Bey Mosque, Clock Tower and opera building. Its broad pedestrian design makes it easier to read several periods of the city's architecture from one place. The square is a practical starting point for routes toward Bunk'Art 2, the New Bazaar and the central boulevards. Outdoor events can temporarily alter movement across the space, so checking the city programme can be useful.
Why go?
