Đerdap National Park protects the dramatic Danube landscape where the river passes through the Iron Gates between Serbia and Romania. Forested slopes, viewpoints and trails form the natural core of the park. Nearby Lepenski Vir adds an important archaeological dimension, documenting prehistoric settlement in the region. Distances are substantial, so viewpoints, walks and museum visits should be planned realistically rather than compressed into an overfilled day.
