Why did Bruges keep its medieval appearance?
When the Zwin channel to the sea silted up in the 15th century, trade shifted to Antwerp and Bruges stayed poor for centuries. With no money to modernise, the medieval fabric survived intact.
Where is the quietest corner of the city?
