The lowest number in the search result may not be the price you will fly at. Add the luggage and transportation you need to both options.

When comparing flights, the base price is only meaningful if the two options include the same service. One ticket may offer cabin baggage and a hub airport, while the other may only offer small personal items and a remote airport.
Create your own essentials basket and add the same items to each ticket. Don't add a service you won't use; Do not ignore the necessary need.
