David Guetta is one of the names who took electronic dance music to the centre of the pop charts. A career that started in club DJing and reached stadium scale now runs in three formats: festival main stages, club sets and Ibiza residency nights.
Those three formats offer seriously different experiences. Knowing which one you are going to before you buy the ticket decides whether the night matches your expectation.

Achievements and milestones
- Won multiple Grammy Awards.
- Reached number one on the DJ Mag Top 100 DJs list.
- Took electronic music to the centre of the pop charts with tracks such as When Love Takes Over and Titanium.
- Sat at the centre of the island's club culture through long-running Ibiza residencies.
Three formats, three different nights
Festival sets are short and built on known tracks; visual production is front and centre. Club sets run much longer and give the DJ more room to mix. Ibiza residency nights run in the May–October season and sit inside a programme that lasts all night.
| Format | Length | Character |
|---|---|---|
| Festival main stage | 60–90 minutes | Hit-focused, heavy visual production |
| Club set | 2–3 hours | Deeper and more experimental transitions |
| Ibiza residency | 2–4 hours | Seasonal, a programme that runs all night |
The Ibiza season and planning
The Ibiza club season opens at the end of May and closes with closing parties in early October. July and August are both the busiest and the most expensive stretch; June and September keep the programme dense while prices are more reasonable.
In summer the island is served by direct flights from many European cities. Accommodation is the most critical line in the budget: hotels near the club area are very expensive, and staying in other parts of the island then using the night bus is a common workaround.

The festival option
Guetta is a regular main-stage headliner at Europe's big electronic-music festivals. A festival lets you see dozens of artists on one ticket and is the most efficient option on value.
The flip side is that festival logistics need their own plan: getting to the site, camping or hotel, and entry queues all have to be factored in. Hotel prices around the site can double or triple on festival weekends.
What to know before you go
- A festival set is short and hit-focused; a club set is much longer and deeper.
- The Ibiza season runs from late May to early October; June and September give the best value.
- Staying near the club area in Ibiza is very expensive; other parts of the island make more sense.
- Club sets start late; plan the journey home in advance.
- Hotel prices around festival sites can double or triple on those weekends; book early.
How to plan travel around the concert
If you are flying abroad for a David Guetta show, the order should be: buy the ticket first, search for flights only once you have it, and stay in a neighbourhood 20–30 minutes from the venue by public transport. Plan to be in the city at least a day before; a morning-of flight that runs late means missing the show.
If the same tour has several European stops, compare the combined cost of ticket, flights and two nights' stay across three cities. London, Paris and Amsterdam sell out fastest and cost the most; Berlin, Milan, Warsaw, Prague and Budapest are usually easier for tickets and noticeably cheaper overall.

Frequently asked questions
Festival set or club set?
A festival set is 60–90 minutes, built on known tracks, with visual production front and centre. A club set runs 2–3 hours and includes much deeper mixing. Pick according to what you want from the night.
When should you go to Ibiza?
The club season opens at the end of May and closes in early October. June and September give the best balance: the programme is at full capacity, but prices sit below the July–August peak.
Where should I stay in Ibiza?
Hotels near the club area are very expensive. Staying in other parts of the island and using the night bus is a common, much cheaper workaround.
