Formed in Istanbul in 1999, Duman married the grunge influence Kaan Tangöze brought back from his Seattle years to Turkish-language songwriting, and carried the line that began with Eski Köprünün Altında through Belki Alışman Lazım, Seni Kendime Sakladım and Darmaduman.

For more than twenty years the band has played Türkiye's largest rock concerts. What defines the show is not the staging but the crowd: most choruses are sung by the entire room or field, and the night is built on that shared voice.

Open-air or indoor?

At a Duman concert the venue type shapes the experience directly. Open-air shows draw tens of thousands and are where the choral effect is strongest — but the stage is further away and you may end up watching the screens. Indoor shows give you cleaner sound and a closer stage, with a slightly weaker collective voice.

The floor is not a rough crowd; pits can open but they do not last all night. Even so, the area right in front of the stage gets dense at big open-air shows. For a comfortable view, the line of the sound tower is the best spot for both sightlines and audio.

Tickets and the tour shape

In summer the band appears at festivals and open-air stages; the rest of the year belongs to the indoor tour. Istanbul dates sell out fastest, while Kocaeli, Antalya, Ankara and Bursa keep general-sale tickets for much longer.

Festival tickets need their own maths. A single concert ticket looks cheaper, but a festival pass usually buys two or three days of many bands. Where camping is an option, the accommodation cost drops sharply too.

How the night runs and what gets played

At headline shows the set runs 100-120 minutes. The repertoire leans heavily on the first four albums: Her Şeyi Yak, Bu Akşam, Senden Daha Güzel, Elleri Ellerime, Eyvallah and Köprüaltı are played almost every night.

The stage manner is plain: little talking, many songs. That keeps the night moving and makes a two-hour set feel more fluid than at most rock shows.

What to know before you go

• Choruses are sung with the crowd; the choral effect is strongest outdoors.
• The floor is not rough, but the front gets dense at open-air shows.
• For the most balanced view and sound, stand level with the sound tower.
• Headline sets run 100-120 minutes; festival sets 60-75.

How to plan travel around the concert

If the date is in another city, buy the ticket first and plan the journey afterwards. Open-air festival sites usually sit outside the city centre; before booking a bed, check whether shuttles run back into town. Without shuttles, staying near the site works out cheaper overall than a bargain room downtown.

For summer shows the date sets the budget. August concerts in Antalya, Muğla and Izmir fall in the most expensive accommodation week of the year. Choosing the September or October stop on the same tour can halve what you pay to sleep.
