Who are Fontaines D.C.?

Fontaines D.C. are the Irish post-punk band formed in Dublin in 2017. The members met while studying music in Dublin and bonded over poetry, and singer Grian Chatten's street-level lyrics put Irish identity at the centre of the albums Dogrel and Skinty Fia. Romance and its single Starburster, released in 2024, carried the band to a far wider audience.

The band has announced its biggest programme yet for 2027: outdoor shows in June and July at Cardiff, Newcastle's St James' Park, Manchester's Heaton Park, Glasgow Green and London Stadium, followed by a European and UK arena tour in October and November that opens in Lisbon and ends at London's O2 Arena. Outdoor show or arena?

The summer 2027 shows are park- and stadium-scale with strong support from Little Simz and Viagra Boys, and they start early like a festival day. The autumn arena tour offers a shorter, more intense concert, with Chalk supporting on every date.

Energy is high on the floor

Pogoing and mosh pits are common in front of the stage at the band's shows. If you would rather avoid that, the middle and back of the floor or reserved stand seats offer a calmer experience. Keep valuables in a zipped pocket.

A second night was added at Manchester's Heaton Park because of demand; if one city sells out, check for extra dates there or shows in nearby cities.

Starburster, Favourite, In the Modern World, Jackie Down the Line, Boys in the Better Land and Big Shot were regular features on recent tours. Songs from the Romance era form the core of the show, with fast post-punk tracks from the early albums in the mix.

Secure the ticket before booking flights or accommodation. Aim to arrive at least a day before the show and stay 20–30 minutes from the venue on a direct public transport line; a same-day flight that runs late can mean missing the concert.
