Who are Simple Minds?

Simple Minds are the Scottish rock band formed in Glasgow in 1977. Led by singer Jim Kerr and guitarist Charlie Burchill, they moved from post-punk and new wave roots to stadium rock. New Gold Dream won over critics, while Don't You (Forget About Me) and Alive and Kicking took them to the top of charts worldwide.

The band has announced the V Tour for 2027 and will release a new studio album, Sacrosanct, in January 2027. After Australia and New Zealand, the tour reaches UK and Irish arenas in May 2027; the UK leg opens at London's The O2 and closes with a homecoming show at Glasgow's OVO Hydro. Special guest Gary Numan is one of electronic music's pioneers and brings a following of his own to the arena. Support sets are shorter and come before the main band, so getting in close to doors opening lets you enjoy both sets comfortably.

Numan's set is dark, synth-heavy and loud electronic rock, which contrasts well with Simple Minds' more melodic, euphoric performance.

Which city to see it in

The UK leg covers seven cities: London, Manchester, Birmingham, Nottingham, Leeds, Newcastle and Glasgow. The Glasgow finale, in the band's hometown, is likely to have the most intense atmosphere. For flights and accommodation from abroad, London and Manchester are the most practical stops.
